Exchange Students

For several years my wife and I have hosted Japanese foreign exchange students, generally for 3-4 week stays. We have had four college-age girls who stayed for 3-4 weeks and one high school boy who stayed for a school year. We have greatly enjoyed this activity and have learned much and have taught much.
We do this through the auspices of Cultural Homestay International. You may write or call them to find what programs they have in your area. They arrange exchanges with students from all over the world and even have plans where you can visit another family in another country. Try it! You'll like it!

Our next student was to be Kumi Ishikawa, a law student from Fukuoka. However, I ended up in the hospital with pneumonia and she stayed with another family. When I got home, she came over and cooked a yaki soba dinner for me! Delicious!

[Aiko and Mika]
Aiko and Mika were the youngest students we have had at ages 11 and 12. They were only with us for a week and were very sweet. Mika played some Mozart for the Sayonara party!
