My Music

I like music of many kinds: classical, Celtic, folk, and gospel. Some of my favorite artists right now are Marley's Ghost (I edited their lyrics page), Martin Simpson, Neal & Leandra, John McCutcheon, and Battlefield Band (My letter about Battlefield Band was posted on their web page!). If you're in the Southern California area, a great 'local' band is the Rincon Ramblers, with Phil Salazar, Jon Wilcox, Bill Flores, and Danny Wilson. Check them out! Their first CD, "The Green Rolling Hills of La Conchita", is great! Alan Thornhill, formerly of the Rincon Ramblers, is now pursuing his solo career and has released his new CD. A fine new group is The Tatters, a trio consisting of Mary Z. Wilson, Erika Harding, and Jenny Snyder with great backing by the Lowly Sidemen. Their first CD has gotten rave reviews from around the world! A great opportunity to see some of these and other great artists is provided by Tom & Becky Lowe of Ojai with their Folk Music in Ojai concert series. You could have heard all these artists (and many more!) on Heartfelt Music with John and Deanne Davis every Saturday morning from 8 to 10 AM on KPFK, 90.7 FM, in Los Angeles except the station cancelled it in a major push for more political coverage.
