The Time, Tide and the Tears
Alan Thornhill, Matilija Music (BMI)
They say it's deep boy and it's wild, it's quite a river
Raging water returning to the sea
I'm going down to the ocean, gonna sit down on the sand and weep
and let the time and the tide and the tears wash my body clean
Like a seabird on the wind out on the ocean
I've done my time, I've been sailing these stormy seas
Now I'm touching down on this mountain with all my memories
Gonna let the time and the tide and the tears wash my body clean
See that big moon going down behind the mountain
Make you mellow or maybe it'll make you scream
I'm going back to the island, want to feel those warm waves at my feet
and let the time and the tide and the tears wash my body clean
I'm going down to the ocean, gonna sit down on the sand and weep
let the time and the tide and the tears wash my body clean
Gonna let the time and the tide and the tears wash my body clean
I'm gonna let the time and the tide and the tears wash my body clean

Forever Grateful
Marty Van Loan, Three Angels and a Saint (BMI)
I wish I had a lucky charm now
A magic wand a crystal ball
So I could say for sure I'd be there
If you should fall
Wish I could find a God like you find
To hear my prayers to ease my mind
That must be the greatest comfort
In troubled times
And love is patient and love is kind
And God is love and love is blind
And words have been the greatest comfort
That I can find
So may we hear him if he's talking
I'll put my ear down to the ground and hold my breath
And may he not be vengeful or hateful
And may I learn from you to be
Forever grateful
Wish I could say I was more like you
It's easy to say it's hard to do
It's easy to pray but it's hard to know if it's getting through

Cry Aye Aye
Mary Z. Wilson, North Oak Publishing (BMI)
Rollin' down this road Well, I have the itch to roll
Get this feeling (growin old) Still the road will take its toll
Where am I goin'? Headed west now
Every turn, every bend Well, I'm travelin' once again
Where does it start? Take a break in five or ten
Where does it end? Time to rest now
My fears are showin'
(Chorus)
And I will cry aye, aye, aye Cry aye, aye, aye
Like a native to the sky Cry aye, aye, aye
Pray like an eagle to soar free Cry aye, aye, aye
And I will dance in the rain Cry aye, aye, aye
Let it wash away the pain
Let the spirit play a magic trick on me
Cry aye, aye, aye
Wheels beneath my feet
Life is bitter, life is sweet
And times are changin'
Travelin' down this road
And my story's still untold
Rearrangin'
Chorus
Refrain
I hear the music when I'm drivin'
It steals the blues away from me
It sets my soul a-flyin'
Soar like an eagle I am free

Minstrels
Joe Paquin, New Semoleon Music (BMI)
We sang our songs on the rainy days
Catching coins in my guitar case
Strummin' wild for street success
We played our best...our very best
Wanderin' minstrels, driftin' through Fall
A thousand songs and they were ours one and all
Songs of love and deceiving dreams...the sweetest of dreams
Sweet dreams
And it's taken its toll
Who'd a thought we'd grow old
Holding hands in our easy chairs
I still care for you
And I'd pay any toll
To go on with the show
One more song in the soft twilight
I could sing it right with you
Wanderin' minstrels, don't drift away
The music lives if the minstrel stays
Sing songs of love and deceiving dreams...the sweetest of dreams
Sweet dreams

Litttle Shell
David Morgan, (to be published)
I heard the news today
No I didn't know what to say
Jumped on the freeway
I'm on my way
Said excise you officer
I've got to get through
I've got too many friends
I'v got to get to.
They've got the mountains to the north
And the sea to the south
Just a little stretch of land
Just a little shell
Filled with fond memories
Of those sunny days
Laughing and playing
Splashing in the waves...
Take a trip across the freeway
To the little store
The center of their universe
Oh no it was so much more
They've got dusty little streets
With banana trees in the yards
The dogs are always chasing
After, after the cats
We were always greeted
With those smiling faces
A town built on friendship
One of those magic places...
Their doors were always open
To us a family of friends
That's the way I'll always remember it
Not in a tragic end...
I said, L. C. oh L. C.
How you meant so much to me
May your spirit be free
Little Shell, oh Little Shell
I wish you well
And bid you a fond farewell
Oh, L. C. oh L. C.
How you meant so much to me
May your spirit be free
Little Shell, oh Little Shell
I wish you well
And bid you a fond farewell

Filled with Rain
John Welborn, John Welborn Publishing
How can I ever learn to say goodbye
When my heart just won't let go
How can I wake to face another day
I hate the way I love you so
What made you change your mind and turn away
You fanned the flame, then doused the fire
But there's still a trace of pain behind your smile
Did we share love or just desire
CHORUS:
I can see the new moon peaking on top of the mountains
I can hear the distant voices call your name
I can feel your spirit dancing across the water
I can sense the coming clouds are filled with rain
I can sense the coming clouds are filled with rain
I can't forget the way your smiling eyes
Sent their gaze in my direction
I swear they looked right through my very soul
And learned the truth of my confession
You listened to the sound of your own heart
And to yourself you must be true
There's not a simple way to ease the pain
I'll have to learn to live without you.
CHORUS: (Repeat)

The Islands
Jimmy Adams, Jimmy Adams & Analog Music (ASCAP)
Sometimes I look toward the islands
And sometimes I stroll by the sea
Oft times I think of a love that I've lost
And then sometimes feel sorry for me
Oh no, I'll just sail away
Think of our life to be
And if I should want for more pleasure
I'll just think of our days and our dreams
And our life in the sweet blue sea.
I remember how we ran and we played,
I remember the good times and the bad.
And I'll never forget the smile on your face
Or the soft sweet feel of your hand.
And I'll just sail away
Think of our life to be
And if I should want for more pleasure
I'll just think of our days and our dreams
And our life in the sweet blue sea.
And there are those who question my wealth
And there are those that say I'm insane
But I know I'm richer than they are
And this beauty will always remain.
And I'll just sail away
Think of our life to be
And if I should want for more pleasure
I'll just think of our days and our dreams
And our life in the sweet blue sea.
Sometimes I look toward the islands,
The Islands.

Forever Young
Bob Dylan, Ram's Horn Music
May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

Nail It Down
Rabbit MacKay, Funt Music (BMI)
Well it sure is good to be on the air
and give my share to you folks out there
You can help the poor boy to make a pile
if you don't touch that dial.
And we'll nail it down
We gonna nail it down
We gonna do our bit until we got to split
and we'll nail it down.
Well I brought my box an' brought my clap
We brought our favorite toe to tap
Brought our baby an' a bottle a wine
an' we sure is a-feelin' fine.
An' we'll nail it down
We gonna nail it down
We gonna cut this rug till they pull our plug
and we'll nail it down.
Well just as long as we got this song
and we got this place to play
we gonna let it rip until we lose our grip
or we blow these walls away.
We gonna swing this thing until we get our kicks
Tax the axe till we chop our licks
Pump the stump until we blow a fuse
Or whack away the blues.
We gonna nail it down
We gonna nail it down
We gonna jam the juice till they cut us loose
And we'll nail it down
So treat your feet to this sweet beat
They bound to feel alright
and if I could I surely would
stay and play all night.
But I got to run cause my time is done
It sure can fly when you're having fun
I do not know exactly when
but we'll be back again
To nail it down
We gonna nail it down
Well I don't know where but we'll soon be there
And we'll nail it down.
We gonna nail it down
We gonna nail it down
We gonna do our bit until we got to split
and we'll nail it down.

The Good Ship Hispaniola
Jon Wilcox, Wind River Music (BMI)
The news fell, my heart swelled, but I didn't cry.
Our long-lost brother's passing came as no surprise.
He had no plans, no illusions, no dreams to get him by
and every scene he'd made for years was just one long good-bye.
He was much loved, but he was written off by those who cared the most.
No strings attached, no ties to bind was the kind of life he chose.
So casting off his anchors, his troubled spirit rose,
and one fine day, he sailed away to where God only knows.
Chorus 1:
So many tender hearts had tried to hold him,
He'd smile and say that opposites attract.
But we were mates aboard the good ship Hispaniola,
And I can't believe he won't be sailing back.
Chorus 2:
I can hear him playing on some old black Gibson
a song about a woman named Louise.
But we were mates aboard the good ship Hispaniola,
and that's a vessel filled with golden memories.
So raise a glass to Fall River, Mass, to her wayward, prodigal son.
And to young hearts filled with innocence and wonder.
And may the Narragansett flow until our lives are done,
'til we've had enough, and then we'll have another.
Chorus 2

I am an Angel
Julie Christensen and Karen Hammack, Stone Cupid (BMI)
Mama had a hard time
To bring me up in this world
Well, she did the best she could
To try and grow a good girl
But Mama was a far cry
When my wings unfurled
And she's never gonna know where
She lost her little pearl
I Am an Angel
I live in Heaven
You are an angel right here
Done a lot of thinkin
On this stretch of road
When I roll my window down
And I feel the wind blow
Got to be a reason
I may never know
Why the wind in these wheels
Keeps makin me go
I Am an Angel
I live in Heaven
You are an angel
Right now-
My Mother's angel
She never knew her
She had an angel
She never knew.
I am an Angel
I never left you
You have an angel
Right here
I live here
I am an angel

I Know You Rider
Hunter/Traditional, Ice Nine Publishing Co. (ASCAP)
Instrumental (on the CD but here are the lyrics)
I know you, rider, gonna miss me when I'm gone;
I know you, rider, gonna miss me when I'm gone;
Gonna miss your baby, from rolling in your arms.
Laid down last night, lord, I could not take my rest;
Laid down last night, lord, I could not take my rest;
My mind was wandering like the wild geese in the west.
The sun will shine in my back door someday.
The sun will shine in my back door someday.
March winds will blow all my troubles away.
I wish I was a headlight, on a north bound train;
I wish I was a headlight, on a north bound train;
I'd shine my light through cool colorado rain.
I know you, rider, gonna miss me when I'm gone;
I know you, rider, gonna miss me when I'm gone;
Gonna miss your baby, from rolling in your arms.
